Overview
The Research and Publication Centre (RPC) at Frantz Fanon University serves as the academic hub for promoting original research, interdisciplinary scholarship, and policy-relevant studies. The Centre is grounded in the legacy of Dr. Frantz Fanon’s commitment to critical inquiry, social transformation, and liberation-based knowledge production.
The RPC fosters a culture of research excellence across all schools and departments, supporting faculty, students, and affiliated researchers in producing work that contributes to both local development and global academic discourse.
Objectives
- Promote high-quality, contextually grounded academic research.
- Support faculty and student research through capacity-building workshops and mentoring.
- Facilitate the publication of research findings in journals, books, working papers, and policy briefs.
- Build partnerships with national and international research institutions.
- Contribute evidence-based insights to address societal challenges in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa.
Key Functions
- Research Coordination: Oversees research planning, quality assurance, and ethical compliance across the university.
- Grants and Funding Support: Assists in securing internal and external research grants.
- Publications: Manages the university’s peer-reviewed publications, including research journals and monographs.
- Training and Capacity Building: Offers workshops and seminars on academic writing, research methods, and publishing.
- Student Research: Supports undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including thesis supervision and defense logistics.
